Here's a cool (well, I think so anyway) line that sounds great over Dm and also over Bb for a Lydian sound.
As you can see it's using hybrid picking throughout but only one finger so even if you're new to this technique it should be manageable. You can of course try it out with regular picking as well.
The reason I start the last part of the lick with an upstroke is that it feels better (to me) to go from a downstroke to the hybrid picked note when jumping back to the e-string. Again, you might prefer to play it another way, just wanted to show you exactly how I play it.
