Have A Look Inside

Six minutes through the actual room. The courses, how a deep dive and an intensive are laid out, and the Practice Lab running a real session.

Inside The Practice Room
Ben Eller · New Year's Resolutions (For Guitarists)

“Another guy that helped me get through some technical ruts in my playing is my good buddy Jon Bjork. This guy is an alternate picking and economy picking genius. I think he just has incredibly clean and efficient technique. He's also a really excellent teacher. He's definitely the guy to talk to if you want to build up your technique and get your chops burning.”

Ben Eller
YouTube comment thread on Ben Eller's channel: Jon thanks Ben for the mention, Ben replies I'm lucky to have learned from you buddy, and Matt Womack replies that he went to Jon on Ben's advice and it absolutely changed his playing
From Players Using The Method

Practice Differently,
Play Differently.

I've always practiced a lot of technique throughout my life. My technique was okay, but I was never able to reach a really high level. I always thought that maybe I just didn't have the talent to become really good. But after learning from Jon how to practice properly, I now understand the mistake I was making.

I used to practice fast and sloppy, thinking that my playing would become cleaner the more I played it. Jon showed me that this is not the right way. Instead, you should practice everything perfectly, so you don't practice mistakes.

I've been doing this for about a year now, and my technique has improved tremendously. This is a practice method I will keep for the rest of my life.

Stefan Siekmann

It changed my playing a lot. But for me personally more important: it changed the way I practice. Jon gave me an insight on how to practice systematically and offered well arranged practice schedules that helped me overcome the plateau I was on for quite some time. Now I can see improvements in my playing regularly by following his practice routines.

Toni Watzinger

Working systematically on single- and multiple-string picking solidified my picking mechanics more than expected. I can now consistently pick 10-15 bpm faster across the strings than before, without pushing it and having my technique fall apart.

Acke · Alternate Picking Intensive

The pentatonic picking book is worth 10x what it's sold at. My picking speed has improved immensely. But most importantly my accuracy also.

Pentatonic Picking Power

This technique helped me instantly. Within minutes I could already play a Yngwie lick way faster and more accurate than before. And your views on practice opened my eyes, because I could find myself in this ‘playing, finding mistakes, playing more and not correcting’ and everything you said made so much sense.

Geppert

I've been trying this technique for years and not quite getting there. Only partial results. I've tried your method and I'm so impressed with the instant results. It is almost like it was the missing piece to finally nail this technique that has eluded me for decades. Anyone who reads this, I'm not joking, it works.

El Kuervo Juarez · Sweep Picking

Your Looping technique is extremely formative. I see my progress day by day, and yet I've been playing for 24 years. I'm still learning more every day, and a new approach to the guitar for me now is due in good part to you.

Laurent Haid · Pentatonic Picking Power

It was extremely difficult for the first few weeks. It actually made my brain hurt. It was so different to how I had memorized the major scale up and down the neck. One morning it just clicked when I was improvising. I was feeling the intervals and not thinking about them. It has been a game changer.

Monte McConnell · Playing What You Hear

Everything is so well structured, so it's very clear what you have to do and how to do it. Now that I've been practicing for a while, I noticed that I started to hear details that I couldn't before, and even spot musical elements in songs that I listen to. As a great plus, also being an amateur violinist, my tuning improved a lot (my teacher noticed!). I wish I had this course before.

Playing What You Hear

I've been running through the entire routine daily for the past 1.5 months and have seen a real improvement in my technique, ability and confidence.

Alternate Picking Mastery

I never post reviews but I have to say this. I'm a 50 year old in guitar rehab, trying to catch up on lost time, and using Jon's approach has made such a difference to my playing. Even though I only have time to practice about 3 times a week, I'm seeing big improvements.

Pentatonic Picking Power

I needed to dial in my skills working across the neck and seeing the scales in that direction on one string. I still practice leaping fours almost every day. It was a game changer to be able to play runs like this.

Monte McConnell · Single-String Speed System

I bought the Daily Ten workouts last year. I saw massive improvements in my technique. I'd recommend it to anyone at any skill level.

The Daily Ten

This is insane effort and I love it. I would never be able to do this much by myself. Thank you all for the inspiration and accountability, it's such a powerful force.

Dragisa · Legato Intensive

I'm at week 5, completely consistent, haven't missed a day. I find the most benefit being the consistency, keeping the schedule, and keeping the slow tempo.

Why This Room Exists

A lesson helps you for an hour. A tutorial, for ten minutes. Progress is decided in the days between, when nobody is there to tell you what to work on. This room is built for those days.

What This Is

The full system I teach, in one place. Courses with daily routines, programs that tell you exactly what to practice, software that keeps score, and a room full of players doing the work alongside you.

Who This Is For

Intermediate players and up who are done with tutorial hopping. If you're a beginner, build the basics first with my free YouTube lessons. This room will be here when a pentatonic scale and a tab feel comfortable.

Common Questions

Before You Join.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay once and the room is yours. Nothing renews and there's nothing to cancel.

Why is it $197 right now?

The room just opened, and $197 is the launch price until Tuesday, August 18. After that it's $297, and the price keeps rising as the library grows. Whatever the price is when you join, that's the only payment you ever make.

What exactly do I get?

Every course I've made with the tabs and Guitar Pro files, the structured practice programs, full access to the Practice Lab, and the community. Finished intensives are added as complete packages after their live runs in Pro. You can read what every course covers here.

Are there live sessions?

They're not part of this offer. Weekly lives, live intensives, and guaranteed feedback all belong to Practice Room Pro. If I go live in here now and then, that's a bonus on top, never something you're paying for.

Will you answer my questions personally?

I'm in the room every day and the best questions get answered in depth, publicly. I can't promise a personal reply to every post. If you want guaranteed feedback on your playing, that's what Pro is for.

I'm a beginner. Should I join?

Not yet. The room is built for intermediate players and up. Start with my free YouTube lessons, and join when a pentatonic scale and a tab feel comfortable. The room will be here.

How does Practice Lab access work?

Your access is posted inside the community the moment you join, the same access my Pro members use. The Lab you see on this page is the Lab you get today.

Will I pay anything on top of the price?

If you're in the EU or the UK, your local VAT is added at checkout. That goes to your government, not to me, and the rate depends on where you live. Everywhere else, the price is the price.

What happens after I pay?

You're in immediately. Start with the welcome post: it points you to your first practice program and shows you where everything lives.
